Member Pathway Agreement

CPA Australia has a Member Pathway Agreement (MPA) with CMASL.

Pathway to CPA membership

The following steps demonstrate the pathway to Associate CPA membership for members of CMASL under the conditions of the current MPA.

Step 1: Determine your eligibility

You may be eligible to apply for Associate CPA Australia membership if you:

Pathway 1

  • hold a university degree recognised by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training as being at least equivalent to Australian bachelor degree level or have at least fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience
  • have passed the CMASL examinations under the 2007-17 syllabus.

Pathway 2

  • hold a university degree recognised by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training as being at least equivalent to Australian bachelor degree level or have at least fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience
  • have passed the CMASL examinations under the 2018-22 syllabus.

Step 2: Apply

Complete our online application and submit with the required documentation, including your application and membership fee.

In your application, nominate CMASL as the professional body with whom you studied and hold membership.

Step 3: Verification and outcome of your application

Your application will take approximately 10 to 15 working days to verify. We will send you an email advising you of your assessment outcome.

Step 4: Advance to CPA status

Once you become an Associate member of CPA Australia via the MPA, you must successfully complete the following subjects of the CPA program according to your verified entry pathway.

When you successfully complete the exams you will advance to CPA status.
