Institute of Certified Management Accountants Sri Lanka

CPA Australia has established some eligibility criteria for members of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants Sri Lanka (ICMASL) wanting to become members of CPA Australia. ICMASL members who qualify for membership of CPA Australia will be admitted as Associate members. The following steps show how ICMASL qualified members can become CPA Australia members.

Step 1: Determine Eligibility

As an ICMASL member, you may be eligible for Associate CPA Australia membership if you:


PATHWAY 1

• hold a university degree recognised by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training as being at least equivalent to Australian bachelor degree level or have at least fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience

• have passed the ICMASL examinations under the 2007 – 2017 syllabus.


PATHWAY 2

• hold a university degree recognised by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training as being at least equivalent to Australian bachelor degree level or have at least fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience

• have passed the ICMASL examinations under the 2018 – 2022 syllabus.

Step 2: Complete Application

Complete the online application and submit with the required documentation, including your application and membership fee. Ensure you nominate Institute of Certified Management Accountants Sri Lanka (ICMASL) as the professional body with whom you hold membership.

step 3: Verification of application

Your application and information supplied will take approximately 10 to 15 working days to verify. Upon completion, an email will be sent to you informing you of your assessment outcome. If we have any questions about your application or need additional information, we will contact you.

Step 4: Advance to CPA status

Once you become an Associate member of CPA Australia, you must enrol into the CPA Program and complete the following exams.


PATHWAY 1

Six exam papers of the CPA Program
  • Ethics and Governance; 
  • Financial Reporting;
  • Strategic Management Accounting;
  • Global Strategy and Leadership; and
  • Two electives


PATHWAY 2

Five exam papers of the CPA Program
  • Ethics and Governance; 
  • Financial Reporting;
  • Global Strategy and Leadership; and
  • Two electives

Upon successful completion of the exams according to Pathway 1 or 2, you will be advanced to CPA status.
