Overview
This module focuses on the three main IFRS accounting standards dealing with specific disclosures required in the notes to the financial statements, namely:
- IAS 10 Events After the Reporting Period
- IAS 33 Earnings per Share
- IAS 24 Related Party Disclosures.
What you'll learn
- Identify what is an 'event occurring after the reporting period' and the accounting/disclosure treatment as per IAS 10.
- Identify the two types of after-balance date events, including those events which require adjustment to the year-end financial statements and those events which require disclosure.
- Understand the calculation of basic and diluted earnings per share, including the criteria to determine whether basic earnings per share has been diluted.
- Understand the disclosure requirements required for both basic and diluted earnings per share as per IAS 33.
- Understand the definition of a 'related party' as per IAS 24.
- Identify the disclosures required in terms of transactions with related parties in the notes to the financial statements.
- Understand how to calculate key management personal compensation and the remuneration/compensation disclosures required in the notes to the financial statements as per IAS 24.
