As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting Indigenous communities all over the world, we aim to support New Zealand Māori and Pasifika in pursuing an accounting career. In addition to supporting Indigenous participation in the accounting profession, we also promote financial wellbeing and the value of accounting within Indigenous communities.

Key initiatives
CPA Australia is committed to implementing strategic initiatives that foster an inclusive accounting profession to drive economic prosperity amongst our Māori and Pasifika members.
- Representation and advocacy: Increase Māori and Pasifika participation in the accounting profession and advocate for policies that support Māori and Pasifika economic interests.
- Career development and progression: Strengthen the professional capabilities of Māori and Pasifika accountants through education, mentorship, and career development programs.
- Networking and collaboration: Foster relationships between Māori accountants, iwi, government, and corporate stakeholders to enhance opportunities and influence.
- Community engagement: Partner with educational institutions to encourage Māori youth to pursue careers in accounting.
