Your guide to navigating Congress 2024
How CPA Congress works
CPA Congress 2024 is an interactive dual experience designed to provide you with an enhanced calibre of content. The three-day conference will feature an exclusive mix of in-person and virtual keynote speakers and global panels, plus valuable pre-recorded sessions and resources. The initial three days of the event will be followed by seven weeks of OnDemand content.
We anticipate that over 1000 delegates will meet in-person at the National Convention Centre in Canberra, plus the ongoing virtual participation of over 8000 delegates online.
Note: In-person tickets also include all of the virtual benefits.
With flexibility and convenience our priority, we’re pleased to provide you with access to the virtual environment for seven weeks post-Congress. This means you can watch OnDemand content until Friday 6 December 2024.
Virtual live keynote sessions will be recorded and available for viewing within 48-72 hours of being held, while a select few may take up to five business days. A handful of sessions may be removed as per speaker agreements. Availability will be noted where applicable.In-person main stage keynote presentations will be recorded and available for viewing from Tuesday 22 October (or sooner if possible). A handful of sessions may be removed as per speaker agreements. Availability will be noted where applicable.
Tickets are available for purchase by all CPA Australia members, colleagues from the wider profession, business professionals from all industries, and any interested members of the public.
In-person attendees can choose to attend exclusive in-depth masterclasses, contextualised concurrent sessions, a sit-down business lunch, and a gala dinner, plus the welcome and farewell networking events.
Virtual participants can engage via the session comment sections, share opinions via polls and surveys, and provide feedback on the content. Delegates online can also connect one-on-one via the in-built chat feature.
- We anticipate the program will comprise an overall 20+ CPD hours of sessions available OnDemand (note: last year the maximum was 22 CPD hours).
The breakdown is:
- In-person ticket – roughly 10 CPD hours, including 8 hours of main stage keynotes recorded for OnDemand.
- Virtual ticket – roughly 10-12 CPD hours, including 4-5 hours of live keynotes recorded for OnDemand. Plus 6-7 hours of pre-recorded sessions also available OnDemand.
- In-person masterclass – 3 CPD hours.
CPD hours will be distributed across all virtual and in-person sessions, and the total will reflect the sum of the sessions once the program is finalised.
Virtual CPD hours will be determined based on your actual viewing time, not based on number of sessions watched in part or in full. Viewing can be live or recorded, on the day, or post-Congress until Friday 6 December 2024
Note: You are welcome to re-watch sessions, however a time cap for that session will apply equivalent to that session duration.
A set number of CPD hours will be allocated for the in-person portion.
Note: For CPA members, CPD hours will be updated automatically within the CPD Diary, two weeks after Friday 6 December 2024. Non-members are requested to manually track their hours.

About attending the in-person experience
National Convention Centre Canberra, 31 Constitution Ave, Canberra ACT 2601, Australia.
Delegates must arrange their own travel to and from Canberra. It is accessible by land or by air. Canberra Airport (CBR) has direct flights from major Australian cities. International travellers will need a connection/stop-over within Australia.
Delegates are required to book and pay for their own accommodation when attending. There are no official conference hotels, however CPA Australia has listed some options here. Delegates are responsible for adhering to the applicable terms and conditions of their preferred hotel.
Delegates attending in-person masterclasses must arrive at the venue on Tuesday 15 October by 12.30pm for a 1.00pm start. Others may join for the welcome reception at 4.00pm.
You may also decide to walk-in on Wednesday 16 October at 8.30am for the start of the first main-stage keynote at 9.00am.
Delegates are encouraged to stay until the farewell reception which concludes at 5.00pm on Thursday 17 October.
Alternatively, if time is of the essence, we’ve incorporated flexibility in the schedule. That afternoon of Thursday 17 October invites in-person attendees to participate in the live virtual keynote presentations from the comfort of the main stage.
However, if you need to leave that afternoon, you can still participate online on the way to the airport, or on your way home. If this is the case, the sit-down business lunch on Thursday 17 October (which finishes at 2.00pm) provides the perfect opportunity to wrap up your in-person experience with your peers.
There will be a Q and A function for some, if not most, of the keynote and concurrent sessions, where you will be able to ask the speaker questions vetted via a moderator/MC. Other features such as polling, surveys and comments will also be activated where appropriate.
