How it works
How does it work?
The Public Practice Virtual Conference is an interactive online experience designed to provide participants with the same rich calibre of content and experiences as previous Public Practice Conferences.
The one-day virtual conference will feature an exclusive mix of keynote speakers, concurrent sessions, pre-recorded content, resources and networking opportunities.
The program has been designed with flexibility in mind, so participants will be able to access sessions at their convenience, around work and personal commitments.
How many CPD hours are available?
There will be 9 hours of CPD available for attending the live conference. You can also claim up to an additional 9 hours of CPD by watching any videos from the conference, including pre-recorded sessions after the conference concludes. You will need to manually track your hours and log them in your CPD diary.
In what time zone will this event be presented?
The event will be available at any time and will have a curated program across different time zones.

How long can I access the virtual conference for?
Once the conference has concluded, the event will stay open for a limited period for last-minute access to certain sessions and rooms. Please note that not all sessions will be available after the event has ended, sponsor booths will be unattended, and some features will not be accessible.
Do I need any special equipment to access the event?
The virtual conference can be accessed from a laptop, computer (Mac or PC) or tablet (Android or IOS). We recommend you
test your computer or device
in advance.
Should I use a specific browser?
We recommend using Chrome and Firefox as they are the most stable and consistent browsers for accessing this virtual environment.
Are there resources available to help navigate around the conference?

About attending
Who can attend?
The Public Practice Virtual Conference tickets will be available for purchase by all CPA Australia members, members of the wider profession, and any interested members of the public. The program has been designed by public practitioners for public practitioners with flexibility in mind, so participants can access sessions at their convenience.
How do I access the event?
You will receive a reminder 24-48 hours before the event with login and access details. The event will be delivered through a virtual event platform. We recommend you
run a system check
prior to the event.
How much are tickets and how do I purchase them?

On the day
Do I have to use the same email address I registered with to log in?
Yes, you will be required to use the same email with which you registered to log in to the event.
Can I log in and out throughout the day?
Yes, you can log in and out when the event is live. Any sessions you do not watch live will be available as a recording later.
What are the main topics covered at the event?

Will I have the opportunity to ask questions during sessions and discussions?
There will be a chat function for the majority of the keynote sessions, where you will be able to ask the speaker questions. There are also live Q&A opportunities throughout the program.
Are the sessions recorded? Will I be able to re-watch them if I’m pulled away from my computer or have a conflict?
Most sessions will be recorded and will be available to view for a short period after it has ended.
What are the chat options?
There will be a range of public, private and moderated chat options available throughout the event to encourage networking opportunities amongst participants.
