Immigration New Zealand has approved CPA Australia to assess your qualifications and determine if you meet the required Standard for the ANZSCO occupation Accountant (General).
Refer to Immigration New Zealand for more information.
Assessment processing times will vary. Typically, assessments are processed in less than 10 business days if all necessary documents are submitted with your application. If further documentation is required to support your application, we’ll put your assessment on hold until we receive all documents.
There are two components to determine suitability:
1. Degree comparability
You must hold a qualification that we assess as being equivalent to a New Zealand bachelor’s degree. We use the guidelines of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority when assessing the comparability of overseas qualifications.
2. Educational knowledge
Study that meets the previous degree requirement will be assessed against the following competency areas:
- Accounting Systems and Processes
- Business Law
- Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Finance and Financial Management
- Management Accounting
- Quantitative Methods
If you have completed study that is formally accredited by us, you can confirm which competency areas you have already met by using our accredited course search. If you have completed an accredited course, you will not need to provide the curriculum.
