Australia skills assessment outcome
Your Australia skills assessment is subject to set periods of validity. Find out how you can update your valid qualification assessment and/or skilled employment assessment, how to apply for qualification assessment for an additional ANSCO code and other options available to you.
For how long is your application valid?
Your application with CPA Australia is valid for three years from the date of your initial assessment outcome. Please note that any subsequent updates, such as applying for a qualification assessments of additional ANZSCO codes, skilled employment assessments or reviews, will not reset the expiration date of an application.
Your assessment outcome is valid with the Department of Home Affairs for three years from the date of outcome.
Update, review, or additional ANZSCO assessment
Use your existing CPA Australia account and your existing application for the services listed below. Your application (with reference ID starting with MGA) will have a status of ‘Assessment in Progress’ during the three-year validity period, indicating that you are still able to apply for the additional services below under the same application. Once the application has expired, you will need to start a new application.
1. Update your assessment
You can update your qualification assessment if you've completed additional study with other higher education providers or another English test and your application is still valid, that is within three years from the date of your initial assessment outcome. Similarly, within the validity period of your application, you can update your skilled employment assessment if you have gained additional work experience, relevant to your chosen ANZSCO code. If the validity period of your application has expired, you will need to start a new application (using your existing CPA Australia ID).
2. Review your assessment
If you've received an assessment from us that you feel is inaccurate, you can apply for a review. Reviews will only use the documents you originally submitted with your application. No new information or documentation will be considered.
Review applications must be submitted within 12 months from the assessment outcome date stated on the outcome letter.
If you wish to submit new documents to be considered for your application, then this will be considered as an update application, not a review.
3. Assessment for an additional ANZSCO
You can submit a qualification assessment application for one or more additional ANZSCO codes after your initial application is submitted, for the duration of the application validity period, that is, three years from the date of your initial assessment outcome. If the validity period of your application has expired, you will need to start a new application (using your existing CPA Australia ID).
If you require a skilled employment assessment for the additional ANZSCO codes as well, you may apply for a ‘Combined assessment - Qualification and skilled employment - Additional ANZSCO’.
4. Skilled Employment Assessment
You can apply for a skilled employment assessment at the same time when you apply for the qualification assessment, by submitting a combined assessment application, pay the relevant fee and provide the required skilled employment documentation, in addition to the remaining information and required documents.
Alternatively, you can apply for a skilled employment assessment after a completed qualification assessment if your application is still valid, that is, within three years from the date of your initial assessment outcome, pay the relevant fee and provide the required employment documents.
