Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) summit
In July 2024, our CEO Chris Freeland, and our ESG Lead Patrick Viljoen, both attended the A4S Summit in London. The summit focused on fast-tracking to 2050 and highlighted the crucial role of accountants in achieving a lower carbon future.
Proposed changes to the regulation of Australian tax practitioners
We have participated in a joint letter to the Assistant Treasurer in response to the recently released Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024. CPA Australia is concerned the Determination has created confusion and uncertainty amongst tax practitioners, and lacks guidance and time to implement properly.
Asia-Pacific Small Business Survey presentations
Our Policy and Advocacy staff have been making tailored presentations to key policymakers on our annual Asia-Pacific Small Business Survey. These presentations help to inform governments on small business policy settings, and to improve recognition of CPA Australia in the region.
