The following steps demonstrate the pathway for members of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants Pakistan (ICMAP) to become Associate members of CPA Australia under the member pathway agreement.

Step 1: Determine Eligibility

You may be eligible to apply for CPA Australia Associate membership if you:

• are a member of good standing with ICMA Pakistan and not currently subject to any disciplinary sanctions or investigations and payment of fees, as imposed by CPA Australia on application for membership or under law

• did not gain entry to membership with ICMA Pakistan through another member pathway agreement (MPA) or any other mutual recognition agreement with another professional body

• have successfully completed:
- the ICMA Pakistan examinations
- the ICMA Pakistan practical work experience requirements

Step 2: Complete Application

Complete the online application and submit with the required documentation, including your application and membership fee. Ensure you nominate the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants Pakistan (ICMAP) as the professional body with whom you hold membership.

step 3: Verification of application

Your application and information supplied will take approximately 10 to 15 working days to verify. Upon completion, an email will be sent to you informing you of your assessment outcome.

Step 4: Advance to CPA status

Once you become an Associate member of CPA Australia via the MPA, you must undertake and successfully complete the following four exam papers of the CPA Program:

• Ethics and Governance
• Global Strategy and Leadership
• Two electives in the CPA Program

Upon successful completion of these subjects you will be eligible to advance to CPA status. You will receive a CPA Australia certificate and you will then be able to use the CPA designation.
