Overview
This module focuses on the three main IFRS accounting standards dealing with the presentation and format of the financial statements, namely:
- The Conceptual Framework for Financial Reporting;
- IAS 1 Presentation of Financial Statements;
- IAS 7 Statement of Cash Flows;
- IAS 8 Accounting Policies, Changes in Accounting Estimates and Errors.
What you'll learn
- Identify the various financial statements that comprise a 'complete set of financial statements' under IAS 1
- Identify the disclosures required on the face of each of the four primary financial statements and/or in the notes to the financial statements
- Identify the required disclosures required in the notes to the financial statements
- Understand the format and content of a Statement of Cash Flows and the disclosure requirements required under IAS 7
- Understand what accounting policies are required to be disclosed and how changes in accounting policies, changes in accounting estimates and material errors from a prior period are accounted for and disclosed under IAS 8.
- Apply the principles learned throughout the course in a practical setting
