A number of new micro-credentials were released throughout 2021, offering even more opportunities to master the latest in-demand skills and stay ahead of emerging trends and changes. New courses included:

Creating Value Through Sustainability
This stand-alone course provides learners with an understanding of the expectations and reporting requirements for sustainability, with a focus on the value that finance professionals can provide.
Business Advisory
Developed for professionals in public practice exploring the essential skills and contemporary issues faced by practitioners in managing their business
Strategic Finance Business Partnering
A suite of six courses that address the essential skills and knowledge required by professionals and leaders working in management accounting roles.
Leadership assessments
Three 60-minute leadership assessments that draw on knowledge gained from Harvard ManageMentor® leadership courses.

My Capability Plan

In May we released the My Capability Plan tool to help members self-assess their capabilities against the CPA Australia Accounting and Finance Capability Framework. The tool highlights your strengths and where you need to develop, so you can create a personalised development plan, with ideas for professional development activities. My Capability Plan is already helping to drive career growth and will be enhanced further in 2022.

My Career Navigator

Now in its second year, My Career Navigator continues to help members based in Australia understand the skills employers are looking for in candidates, and then identify the relevant professional development required. Work is already underway to expand the application so it’s available to all members globally and can provide a more personalised experience based on your career background.

Mentoring Program

In 2021, the CPA Australia Mentoring Program connected over 500 pairs of mentees and mentors across Australia and New Zealand. We also ran additional pilot programs for public practitioners and international members, to ensure we can tailor programs that meets their individual needs.

Through initiatives like this, we can help build strong support networks and encourage knowledge-sharing. Feedback shows it’s helped mentees to accelerate their careers and boost their confidence, and supported mentors to shape the next generation of leaders within the accounting profession.

MY FIRM. MY FUTURE. elearning

The "MY FIRM. MY FUTURE." elearning suite has expanded over the last 12 months, with a variety of new complimentary resources. These have been developed to help public practitioners navigate the critical topics required to build a sustainable business, like creating efficiencies, business resilience, managing staff and change, and adapting to uncertainty.
