We are committed to partnering with the academic community to enhance the accounting profession. A key element of this partnership is our involvement in conferences and awards at national and international levels.
We support major events that provide a forum for the academic community to exchange ideas and celebrate innovation. Below you’ll find a selection of events supported by CPA Australia.
Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand
We advocate for the accounting profession through our partnership with the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ). The association represents the interests of accounting and finance academics in education and research across Australia and New Zealand. As Platinum sponsors of the AFAANZ annual conference, we also amplify cutting edge research in the form of renowned speakers, research presentations and special interest groups for delegates to share insights and network with leaders of the profession.
Business/Higher Education Round Table Awards
We view collaboration between the education and corporate sectors as key to enhancing the capacity and capability of the accounting profession. That’s why we sponsor the Business/Higher Education Round Table (B/HERT) Awards which recognises the outstanding achievement in collaboration between education and industry. We encourage you to nominate your successful programs for the annual CPA Australia B/HERT Excellence in Accounting Teaching Collaboration Award.
RMIT Accounting Educators Conference
Supporting the advancement of accounting education, CPA Australia is the proud sponsor of the annual RMIT Accounting Educators Conference, a major forum for national and international academics.
The University of Melbourne Australian Accounting Hall of Fame
Our major sponsorship of The University of Melbourne Australian Accounting Hall of Fame is another example of the way we support innovation and excellence in the accounting profession. The Hall of Fame honours and celebrates distinguished practitioners and academics who have made a significant contribution to the accounting profession.
CPA Congress is our flagship event and is the largest annual gathering of finance, accounting and business professionals across Australia. It is held in up to 13 locations across the globe, and provides delegates with access to high profile, respected speakers. In keeping with the CPA designation’s emphasis on a combination of technical rigour and broader strategic business and leadership topics, these events include a mix of both technical and strategic content, as well as offering debate on issues relevant to the academic community and business sector.
