INTRODUCTION

The primary purpose of professional accreditation of higher education accounting programs is to assure the quality of educational programs, their providers and to promote improvements in accounting education quality.

CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand share a common overall vision for accreditation, as explained in this section of the guidelines. This section is written jointly by CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (the Professional Bodies) to explain the overall philosophy, objectives, expectations and requirements for professional accreditation of accounting degrees.
