The Divisional Councils key role is member engagement and local support for CPA Australia and maintaining the integrity of the designation. Divisional Councils are an important conduit between the members and CPA Australia’s Board and the organisation more broadly. Depending on the size and complexity of the Division, regional committee branches, speciality interest and sector committees or networks may support the work of Divisional Councils in member engagement and advocacy activities. Divisional Councillors are elected by the membership in the Division, usually to a three-year term.

Chau Chiem

Chau Chiem FCPA – President

Chau’s experience as a senior accountant spans across project management, financial reporting and management accounting. She has been involved in various divisions such as strategic campaigns, cyber security, surveillance and communications. Chau is on the board of a not-for-profit organisation as honorary treasurer promoting peace through the arts.

Karen Conlon

Karen has been a principal in public practice since 2005 and was previously employed in various accounting firms. Karen caters for small business in taxation, accounting and SMSF administration. She believes it is important for public practice to have a voice within CPA Australia and so has joined Divisional Council with this in mind.

Andrew Mclnerney

Andrew McInerney FCPA – Deputy President

As a senior finance executive Andrew has developed strong commercial, strategic and analytical skills working in the manufacturing, retail and service industries. With NFP and corporate experience Andrew’s expertise includes leading results-driven teams to achieve outcomes and building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. He is a current board member of the Sammy D Foundation and WT Birkalla SC.

Glenn Bain

Glenn Bain CPA – Councillor

Glenn has experience auditing high wealth individuals, SME and micro companies. Previously, Glenn worked in financial accounting and academia, and is currently studying law. As a Councillor, Glenn intends to use his expertise to strengthen the relationship between CPA Australia and the Australian Public Service in South Australia.

Hanne Damgaard

Hanne’s background includes experience in financial and management accounting, statutory reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, corporate governance, risk management and indirect taxation. She is a recent retiree, and keen to support retired members and member nearing retirement.

Andrew Dow

Judy Horsfall

Judy’s experience as an accountant includes government administration – management accounting and policy analysis, audit in a Big 4 accounting firm, and small business. Judy is motivated by the drive for positive organisational and societal change. As a Councillor, she intends to add value through engagement with CPAs, especially within the state government.

Philip specialised in business valuations in the private and public sector. Prior to election, he had been involved with the Small Business Committee and the Public Practice discussion group. Philip is now focusing on retirement and transition to retirement issues.

Nicole Rantanen

Nicole is an experienced senior executive and non-executive director of public unlisted companies and various strategic boards that aim to increase asset size, employ growth strategies and achieve commercial outcomes. Nicole is the Chair of the State Procurement Board (SA Government), Risk Committee Chair of the Credit Union SA Board and on the board of the Grange Golf Club.

Stephen Warren

With extensive experience in the private sector, state government and not-for-profit sector, Stephen understands the key financial issues impacting those, and the role that accountants play within each of them. Stephen is also an active supporter of the CPA Program, and is keen to support the transition of graduate accountants into the workplace.

As a councillor, he intends to improve member engagement with CPA Australia.

Jodi Wright

Jodi has eight years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector and understands the diverse professional development demands that the sector holds for CPAs. Prior to this, Jodi had an extensive career in local government. With tertiary qualifications in accounting and human resource management, she is experienced across the breadth of corporate governance and strategic development functions.
