Strengthening global ties: CPA Australia and CFA Institute sign MoU

Australia’s largest accounting body, CPA Australia, and CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a sign of future collaboration to enhance career opportunities for members of both bodies.
The MoU was signed at a ceremony in Hong Kong on behalf of CPA Australia by John Curtin Distinguished Professor Dale Pinto FCPA, President and Chair of the Board, and Brenda Hou CFA, Senior Head, APAC of CFA Institute.
The agreement is the next step in formalising a mutually beneficial partnership that the two organisations already enjoy.
Professor Pinto commented: “This agreement is a significant milestone in cooperation between our two prestigious organisations and underscores our ongoing commitment to long-term collaboration which enriches the professional landscape for our members.
“We share with CFA Institute a commitment to offering relevant, future-focussed education, advocating for positive economic outcomes and upholding the highest professional and ethical standards.”
The role of accountants and finance professionals is fundamental to the success, stability and sustainability of companies, financial markets, and the economies of entire countries.
Professor Pinto added: “This agreement broadens the global vision of our respective members and stands as a mark of our mutual commitment to share information and ideas. This includes initiatives for joint events, professional development offerings, collaborative thought leadership, membership pathways and a regional taskforce.”
Ms Hou said: “CFA Institute is proud to partner with CPA Australia to deepen our collaboration in professional development and education.
“By combining our expertise, we can better equip professionals with the skills and insights required to lead in today’s complex financial landscape.”
CPA Australia is one of the world’s largest accounting bodies, with nearly 175,000 members in 100 countries and regions around the world, including more than 24,000 members in Greater China. This year CPA Australia celebrates 70 years of presence in Hong Kong.
