CPA Australia and Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants renew Mutual Recognition Agreement

CPA Australia is delighted to renew its Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) with the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA).
The MRA renewal, signed at the office of HKICPA in Hong Kong, represents a significant milestone in the longstanding relationship between CPA Australia and HKICPA.
The two professional bodies first agreed to formalise the sharing of knowledge and ideas to the benefit of members of both organisations back in the year 2000.
Collectively, CPA Australia and HKICPA represent more than 221,500 professionals worldwide, and both are full members of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
Speaking at the signing ceremony in Hong Kong, CPA Australia’s Divisional President of Greater China, Karina Wong, welcomed the renewal of the MRA and said that the strong and ongoing collaboration between the bodies reinforces their mutual dedication to professional excellence.
“The MRA provides members of both professional bodies a streamlined pathway to take up each other’s designation and further improve their career opportunities,” said Ms Wong.
“Renewing this agreement for a fifth time also allows both organisations to continue delivering high-quality education programs that strengthen the technical capabilities of accounting, business and finance professionals all around the world.
“Forming and strengthening positive, collaborative relationships with professional accounting bodies is a priority for CPA Australia and we thank the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants for many years of mutually beneficial commitment.”
