Working together to shape the future of the profession
IFAC is committed to making the accountancy profession truly global by connecting and uniting its members from all over the world. With over 180 members and associates operating in more than 140 jurisdictions, IFAC is actively shaping the future of the profession by focusing on learning, innovation, a collective voice, and commitment to the public interest.
As founding members of this respected organisation, CPA Australia have been working closely with IFAC since 1977 to ensure integrity and professional quality. We proudly carry our IFAC membership as a badge of international recognition.

Our involvement with IFAC
When IFAC was formed in October 1977, we were among 63 professional accountancy bodies from across the world to become founding members. CPA Australia members are now represented on the IFAC Board and its advisory groups, ensuring that our voice is heard during the development of the international standards that we all use.

Our obligations as a member of IFAC
As a member of IFAC, we’re required to comply with a series of International Education Standards released through the International Accounting Education Standards Board. Statements of Membership Obligations (SMOs) form the basis of the IFAC Member Compliance Program. More information about SMOs can be found on the IFAC website.
