On 7 March 2025, the One Person Tribunal found the Member breached CPA Australia’s Constitution of 11 May 2022:
- Article 36(a) in that the Member “committed, participated in or been involved with an Adverse Event” as defined in Article 76(i) in that he “pleaded guilty to, or was found guilty of (either without conviction or with a final conviction), any offence (criminal or otherwise, but excluding any offence relating to traffic infringement) before any Court in any jurisdiction, which in the Board’s reasonable opinion, is likely to have a material adverse effect on the Company’s standing or reputation;” in that he pleaded to guilty to and was convicted of one count of unlawful assault, and one charge of common law assault in the Magistrates Court of Victoria.
The Member admitted the Complaint prior to the convening of the One Person Tribunal and consented to the Determination and imposition of the penalty below.
Penalty and Costs:
The One Person Tribunal found the Complaint sustained and imposed the following penalty:
- Suspension of Membership for 12 months from 11 March 2025.
The Member was ordered to pay CPA Australia’s costs of $3,634.00.
