Public Practice Advisory Committee
Nominations are being sought for CPA Australia’s Public Practice Advisory Committee (PPAC).
PPAC provides management with advice and a forum for consultation on issues relating to the public practice sector, as well as advice on the development of strategies, regulations and support services so that it can manage and enhance the reputation of members working in the public practice sector.
Suitable candidates will:
- Work in public practice and preferably hold a CPA Australia public practice certificate
Interested candidates should review the Expertise section of the Public Practice Advisory Committee Charter to ensure they meet the selection criteria.
To submit a nomination, complete a committee nomination form (below) and email it with a current resume to Committee Nominations by Friday 15 September 2023.
Best Practice Advisory Committee
Nominations are now open for the Best Practice Advisory Committee (BPAC).
The BPAC advises management on matters relating to the strategic oversight of the CPA Australia Best Practice Program. The committee also acts as a consultation forum for emerging topics and issues raised by members in public practice, and recommendations are made to management as needed.
Suitable candidates will:
- work in public practice, hold a public practice certificate and/or preferably be a principal in a firm that trades as a CPA practice
- specialise in areas including audit, tax, insolvency, financial planning or business advisory consulting
- have a good working knowledge of, and interest in, the Accounting Professional & Ethical Standards Board (APESB)
- hold an interest in quality assurance practices.
We also consider the following attributes desirable:
- innovative thinking
- focus on continuous improvement
- desire to protect the public interest.

Professional Education Advisory Committee
Nominations are being sought for CPA Australia’s Professional Education Advisory Committee.
The Professional Education Advisory Committee advises management on the education framework for members, so that it can develop and monitor educational strategy relating to the CPA Australia professional programmes.
CPA Australia members must meet one of the categories below to nominate:
- Members from the academic sector, preferably of senior academic rank.
- Members from a large accountancy firm.
- Members from the “Top 100” industry sector.
- Members who live and work outside Australia.
- Members from the public sector
- Be a full member (CPA or FCPA) of CPA Australia
We welcome and encourage applicants with educational design, development and assessment expertise and/or curriculum development and instructional design expertise. Knowledge of the CPA Program would be an advantage.
