Small business owners impacted by Cyclone Ita can access a free disaster recovery toolkit to help them work through the critical business issues they are likely to be facing.

CPA Australia Chief Executive Alex Malley says the free resource would help business owners work through the time critical steps they need to take, as well as the other aspects of disaster recovery that can easily be overlooked.

“Australians are unfortunately no strangers to natural disaster. But it is a defining characteristic of who we are that we rally around in times of need and back each other up.

“I am confident that in the clean up after Cyclone Ita the experience of communities throughout Queensland will be no different and this toolkit is one way CPA Australia can use our expertise to help out.

“Small and medium sized businesses make a significant contribution to the Australian economy – they account for nearly one-half of private sector employment.

“A major disaster can disrupt and alter the markets these businesses work in and have significant impacts on employment in local communities.

“This toolkit can be used to help businesses adjust and identify opportunities that they may want to explore, but have yet to attempt,” says Mr Malley

CPA Australia’s disaster recovery toolkit takes into account feedback received following release of our first toolkit five years ago.

This free resource also includes:
