Does your PI insurance cover a partner’s previous business?
When a practice takes on a new partner, that practice may be exposed to claims that could be made against the new partner for work done in a previous business.

Minimum level of PI insurance rises
Members are reminded that as of Tuesday 1 July 2008 the minimum level of professional indemnity (PI) insurance for CPA Australia members providing public accounting services will rise to $A750,000.

Annual practising licence available
Following the approval of your application to become a public practice certificate holder you will receive an annual practising licence, in addition to receiving a one-off certificate.

Super basics DVD series: how to get your SMSF started
 ‘Establishing a self-managed super fund’ (SMSF) is this month’s Super basics DVD topic.

Bring your lunch along to watch the DVD, which will be screened at the CPA Australia offices in Darwin on Friday 27 June from 12.00 pm to 1.15 pm.

The screening is free for members and $5.00 for non-members.

Closing date approaching for public practice study programs
The first enrolment closing date for the public practice study programs will be on Monday 7 July.

CPA Australia is pleased to present the 2008 Accounting Handbook. The handbook provides an invaluable, compact and portable reference source on current accounting standards, and associated professional pronouncements.
