The CPA Australia Queensland Professional Standards Scheme was gazetted as a regulation by the Queensland attorney-general on Friday 25 January. The commencement date for this scheme was 25 January (the date of publication).

The CPA Australia ACT Professional Standards Scheme was gazetted as a regulation by the ACT attorney-general on Thursday 24 January and commenced on Friday 1 February.

The CPA Australia Western Australia Professional Standards Scheme was gazetted as a regulation by the Western Australia attorney-general on Friday 1 February. The commencement date for this scheme is Tuesday 1 April.

The CPA Australia South Australia Professional Standards Scheme was gazetted as a regulation by the South Australia attorney-general on Thursday 14 February. The commencement date for this scheme will be Monday 14 April.

Public practice certificate and Limited practice certificate holders automatically become members of those occupational schemes.

Members will benefit from the schemes by having their occupational liability capped under relevant state and commonwealth legislation.

It is expected that schemes in the Northern Territory and Victoria will become operational in the first quarter of 2008, following gazettal.

A 12-month transition period will apply to assist members to meet new disclosure requirments.
