Excel tip: create an organisation chart

Ever needed to create an organisation chart but don't have Visio? Have a look at Excel's built-in Org Chart creator.

Click Insert menu > Diagrams and select the Org Chart. Use the drop downs on the toolbar to add to the chart. The AutoFormat button has a selection of built-in formats that you can try. The chart is treated as a picture so you can resize the whole chart easily by clicking and dragging the sizing handles on the edges and corners of the chart.

In Excel 2007 you use Insert > SmartArt > Heirarchy and make a choice.
