This area of accounting work is concerned with the management of financial risk for organisations through the acquisition, custody, security and investment of funds.

These activities may include monitoring interest rates and foreign currency fluctuations, planning long-term and short-term finance for organisations, assessing and advising on the impact of internal and external policy decisions on the financial risk and funding of an organisation, design and management of investment portfolios, supervising the collection and handling of funds.
