To be eligible to apply for a Public practice certificate you must not only pass the three-hour examination for CPA 201 Practice management, the distance learning component of the Public practice program, you must also attend a Public practice program residential. You can attend a residential in the same semester you are enrolled in the distance learning component or after completing the examination.
The residential is divided into several topics and interactive sessions, including syndicate group exercises. The emphasis is on providing professional accounting and advisory services in a practice environment, utilising technical and communication skills.
The residential is an excellent opportunity to hear from experienced public practitioners and other experts who present the sessions, and allows you to build a network of contacts.
The residential is not examined, but attendance is compulsory for completion of the Public practice program. Residentials are conducted in most states at various times throughout the year.
For further information about dates and locations, contact 1300 857 705 or visit the Public practice residential dates section of the website.
Please note: there is a separate fee for attending the Public practice program residential.
