Accounting romances New Zealand television
CPA Australia president Alex Malley was interviewed live on New Zealand's breakfast television program Sunrise. He spoke of the options a career in accounting presented and how the CPA designation made this possible.

Climate change
An opinion article by CEO Geoff Rankin on the importance of tax issues in businesses' response to the regulatory impacts of addressing climate change was published in online publication Business Spectator. The article was drafted in support of CPA Australia's submission to the 2020 Summit.

Tax reform
CPA Australia's views were widely sought on the federal government's proposed comprehensive Australian tax reform. Policy and research director Paul Drum was interviewed on radio throughout the country (news grabs and live interviews). He was also quoted in The Age.

Women in accounting
Alex Malley was interviewed by London-based accounting publication The Accountant for an article on the growth of CPA Australia's female membership. He spoke of the importance of attracting women to the profession in light of the skills shortage and of providing attractive and flexible career options. Local media also reported the increase in female readership.

Small business, big coverage
CPA Australia's latest small business survey obtained extensive print media coverage, with business policy adviser Gavan Ord frequently quoted. Focus was evenly divided between the apparent view among small business proprietors that climate change and sustainability considerations were not high priorities and that they were having difficulty attracting skilled staff.

China tax survey
The China Daily (Beijing), the Shanghai Daily and local television stations covered the CPA Australia China tax survey. Beijing committee president Henry Chan is quoted in the China Daily article.

China education exhibition
The Hong Kong China division participated in the China International Education Exhibition Tour, which took in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Jack Huang of the Beijing committee and Lawrence Lau of the Shanghai committee were interviewed by local media.
