CPA Library is available for use by members of CPA Australia. Students who have registered for CPA Passport and purchased the library card from CPA Store are also able to use the CPA Library.
If you are not a CPA Australia member you can organise inter-library loan/s through your institutional library, although charges do apply. CPA Australia's libraries also participates in inter-library cooperation with libraries of government departments, state and commonwealth, commercial and accounting firms, universities and colleges, state libraries and the Australian National Library.
Members within Australia and eligible CPA Passport students can borrow up to five items at a time. The loan period differs depending on the item type:
- members can borrow for two weeks
- audio visual material is loaned for one week
Borrowers can also renew their loan for a period of two weeks (one week for video and audio tapes). A maximum of three renewals per item is allowed.
Borrowers can reserve up to five library items, where the required items are available for loan (e.g. books, videos and audio tapes). Items which are not for loan (e.g. reference items, some conference papers and journals) are not able to be reserved. Reservations expire after six months.
To reserve an item:
- Find it using the library search facility.
- Click on the 'Check availability' link next to the item's summary. The current location/s of the item will be displayed.
- Click on the 'Request' link next to the specific item you would like to reserve. A request form will be displayed.
- Enter your details and submit the request form. Please note that:
- items can only be mailed within Australia.
- free postage is available only to CPA Australia members who work and reside more than 10 kilometres from the central business district (CBD) and/or those members who do not have a CPA Library branch in their state. Items will be sent by Express Post.
- items will only be posted to CPA Passport students who hold a CPA Library card and reside more than 50 kilometres from the CBD and/or do not have a CPA Library branch in their state.
- members who work or reside within 10 kilometers of the CBD can either collect the item from their nearest CPA Library or have it delivered (postage fees will apply).
- You will be notified once the library item/s is available. Item/s must be collected within two working days of notification.
