CPA Australia Hong Kong China division has been the recipient of the Caring Organisation award from the Caring Company Scheme for five consecutive years.
The Caring Organisation awards recognise CPA Australia for contributions to underprivileged children of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong youth service.
Launched in 2002, the scheme is organised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, an overarching organisation for more than 400 non-government organisations that provide over 90 per cent of the social welfare services in Hong Kong.
The scheme aims to provide a bridging function between the business and social service sectors in Hong Kong by fostering relationships through four main approaches:
- assist with developing long-term relationships through providing tools, guidelines and training
- help businesses hold discussions on community needs and other related topics
- assist with searching for, identifying and matching potential service partners
- educate the public about corporate social responsibility (CSR)
Upon receiving the award for the fourth time, CPA Australia was also granted admission to the Patrons Club of the Caring Company Scheme - the only professional body to join this club. CPA Australia was granted admission to the Patron's Club again in 2008.
Established in 2006 the Patrons Club provides support and donations to assist effective promotion of CSR messages to the public.
