The Finance and Treasury Centre of Excellence (CoE) assists CPA Australia in identifying key issues facing members across the areas of financial analysis, treasury and investment strategies, banking and insurance and financial risk management, funds managements and money management.
Objectives of the CoE
The CoE will assist CPA Australia to achieve its strategic objectives through:
thought leadership
advocacy and representation
supporting key areas
providing or identifying appropriate relationships
Areas of interest
The focus of the Finance and Treasury CoE is on all aspects of the managements of money, sourcing of money, the use of funds and collection and placement of funds in the market, including:
credit management and risk including credit analysis and credit derivatives
aligning business and finance strategy
developing debt diversity
working capital management including channel migration for accounts payable and receivable
impact of globalisation on the finance industry
corporation incentive schemes and managements options
regulation and corporate governance
asset and liability management for financial institutions
funds management
corporate risk management
insurance and self-insurance
internal controls
independence of research and lack of research of small company stocks
