Continuing professional development (CPD) obligations apply to ASA, CPA and FCPA members, other than those who are on the retired member list and are not providing any public accounting services (for reward or not).
The underlying principal of CPD is that the learning activity must improve your ability to undertake your job by extending your knowledge and skills. It is additional to the normal requirements of your employment and ensures you maintain a competitive advantage in your area. It is for the member to decide which activities best satisfies their individual requirements.
