The code of professional conduct is designed to provide members with authoritative guidance on minimum acceptable standards of professional conduct.

The code of professional conduct (prior to 1 July 2006) is segmented into the following categories:

• Section A - General information
• Section B - Fundamental principles of professional conduct applicable to all members
• Section C - Matters applicable to all members
• Section D - Matters applicable mainly to members in public practice
• Section E - Statements regulations and By-Laws contained in other parts of the Members' Handbook and relevant to specific aspects of professional conduct
• Section F - Professional statements
