What is financial planning?

Financial planning is a holistic approach to planning for your financial future. It is about setting short and long-term goals and developing strategies to achieve those goals.

As the client, you are at the centre of the financial planning process, as demonstrated by the CPA Australia financial planning wheel.

When you meet with a financial planner, they will talk to you about your financial background, current financial position, insurance position and your financial goals and aims.

Where comprehensive advice is given, the planner will then develop a strategy which takes into account all of those factors and outline how you can work towards achieving your financial goals.

Investment advice will form part of a complete plan, only after suitable investment vehicles and asset mixes have been identified and discussed with you.
