How do I become a member of CPA Australia? |

You can apply for Associate membership if you hold a degree that is assessed as comparable to an Australian bachelor degree and have also satisfied the minimum core knowledge requirements in your degree.
Our core knowledge areas are: accounting systems and processes, financial accounting, management accounting, accounting theory, finance, auditing, commercial and corporations law, taxation, information systems design and development, economics, and quantitative methods.
The simplest pathway to membership is to complete a degree that has been accredited by CPA Australia.

I am a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA), formerly known as the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICANZ). How do I become a member of CPA Australia? |

Members of NZICA who held the status of Chartered Accountant by the 16 August 2003, may be admitted to CPA Australia with the status of CPA without the requirement to complete the CPA Program or Mentor Program.
Those who achieved CA status after this date, are required to complete two CPA Program segments 'Corporate governance and accountability' and 'Business strategy and leadership' prior to being admitted as CPA members.
Provisional members of NZICA who have successfully completed PCE 1 will be granted one exemption from the 'Reporting and professional practice' segment. |

Can I become a member of CPA Australia if I have graduated from a non-accredited university? |

Yes, you can. If you have completed a non-accredited degree you will need to get a qualifications assessment.
Depending on your assessment result, you may need to complete additional studies to meet our core knowledge requirements. This can be done by completing undergraduate or postgraduate studies that have been accredited by CPA Australia.

How do I apply for a qualifications assessment? |

CPA Australia's Qualifications Assessment unit assesses qualifications on a fee-for-service basis for overseas-qualified accountants seeking membership of CPA Australia.
We aim to complete your assessment within six to eight weeks. You will be advised of your individual admission requirement in the assessment letter which will be sent directly to you from the Qualifications Assessment unit.

No, you cannot enrol in the CPA Program but as a student enrolled in a accredited degree program, you are eligible to apply for the CPA Passport membership.
