CPA Australia made submissions to the Australia 2020 Summit, issued on 9 April 2008.

Submissions were made on four of the ten topics to be discussed at the summit. Outlined in this paper are CPA Australia's thoughts and recommendations on:

• Topic 1: The productivity agenda: education, skills, training, science and innovation
• Topic 3: Population, sustainability, climate change and water
• Topic 9: The future of Australian governance: renewed democracy, a more open government (including the
  role of the media), the structure of the federation and the rights and responsibilities of citizens
• Topic 10: Australia’s future security and prosperity in a rapidly changing region and world
