A discussion paper on differential auditing, reflecting the views expressed by participants at the Audit Round Table on 13 March, was issued on 21 May 2007.

The discussion paper provides interested parties with an opportunity to review the current situation regarding the audit requirements in Australia and internationally, with particular emphasis on requirements facing SMEs as well as to explore possible alternative services to the audit as it is traditionally defined in the profession.
