Celebrate 100 years of Victorian women's suffrage and take part in an open forum discussion lead by four inspirational women at the next Women in Business luncheon Climbing the corporate ladder' on Friday 15 August from 12.30 pm in Melbourne.
Part of the fight for women's suffrage was the signing of a 'monster petition', so-called because of the number of people who signed it. Over a period of six weeks, 30,000 signatures were collected and taken to parliament, which resulted in women winning the right to vote in state elections in 1908.
You will be invited to sign a monster petition at the luncheon to signify recognition of this historic event.
As well as becoming part of history, you are also invited to be involved in a panel discussion lead by some of Australia's most inspirational leaders. Lynne Haultain, senior adviser, CPR Communications, will facilitate the forum with four professionals sitting on the panel:
Dr Rhonda Cumberland, director, Office of Women's Policy
Karen James, general manager, direct services and sales of local business banking, Commonwealth Bank
Christi Malthouse, TEN network reporter
Clare Penniceard, owner and sole director, Pig Pen
The panel will speak about their personal journeys to give you an insight into their careers.
