Rural and regional practitioner study

An Australian Research Council Linkage Project Grant is underway to study the factors affecting the supply of, and demand for, professional accounting and allied services in rural and regional Australia.

In association with The University of Melbourne, Deakin University and RMIT University, CPA Australia is seeking expressions of interest from accounting practitioners in rural and regional areas to participate in informal interviews.

The specific regions of interest at this time are Griffith, Mackay, Port Augusta, Devonport, Kalgoorlie / Boulder and Alice Springs.

A survey will also be mailed to all rural and regional practitioners in Australia later in the year.

CPA Australia is committed to developing strategies stemming from the research project’s findings, and in collaboration with the research team, the accounting profession and other stakeholders, to affect policy and strategy changes applying to the provision of rural and regional accounting services.

To submit an expression of interest contact Peter Docherty, director public practice, at peter.docherty@cpaaustralia.com.au
