Clarification of disclosure information

CPA Australia would like to confirm that it has set a transition period for their certificate holders to implement limited liability disclosure requirements on business stationery.

The 12-month administrative transition phase assists members of each CPA Australia state or territory liability limited scheme to meet the disclosure requirements of the Professional Standards Council as seamlessly as possible in order to lessen the disruption to practice operations.

CPA Australia has provided complimentary disclosure stickers, which can be used as a temporary measure on business stationery until practice stationery templates are amended, and ease of access to the optional Cover of Excellence® logo.

We urge you to implement disclosure as soon as possible and reinforce our previous advice that members of a scheme in Victoria, Queensland and the Northern Territory will not have their liability capped until they disclose their limited liability to their clients. This is due to differences in the wording of professional standards legislation in those states and territories.
