The CPA Directors Register is providing a valued point of access for Victorian business seeking the recognised expertise and leadership skills of FCPAs for company director positions as illustrated by the recent appointment of Pansy Kwan FCPA to the Western Edge Youth Arts board.
Western Edge Youth Arts Inc. creates a link between the arts, education and the community and is the umbrella organisation for school programs, as well as other community based projects and performance workshops that involve young people from diverse cultures.
Ms Kwan will play an integral part in helping to guide the not-for-profit organisation in its strategic planning.
According to business manager Heather Marsh, Western Edge Youth Arts will be much stronger by virtue of Ms Kwan's input on the board.
'We are a new organisation so Pansy will bring a good grounding to the organisation. She has already provided input on how to establish financial controls, suggested systems and given advice on simplifying the financial statements that are to be given to the board,' said Ms Marsh.
Ms Kwan brings considerable knowledge to her new role with twenty-five years accountancy experience along with her current role as managing director of pktea.com.
