CPA Young Achiever Award

CPA Young Achiever Award

In 2011, CPA Australia commemorates its 125th anniversary. While we celebrate our past achievements, we also look to invest in the future.

The CPA Young Achiever Award recognises the top young professionals in Australia who have proven themselves in finance or accounting – tomorrow’s business leaders.

Congratulations to the winner

Emma Jones, Graduate Management Accountant, Cairns Regional Council, Queensland was named the winner of the CPA Young Achiever Award at the prestigious CFO DealBook Awards ceremony in Sydney on Friday 23 September. The award followed Emma’s presentation in Sydney on Thursday 22 September, in which she competed against four other finalists.

Emma presented on the role of a professional accountant in integrating non-financial issues (for example, social and environmental factors) into business decision making.

As well as the award and a full CPA Program scholarship, Emma will receive recognition via INTHEBLACK, CFO magazine, BRW magazine and the Australian Financial Review.

Emma Jones, CPA Young Achiever Award winner

"Emma’s combined commercial background and community experience was a personal asset in her ability to clearly understand and articulate current issues facing accountants and how they need to be flexible in extending their skills beyond just 'the numbers'. She expressed a strong view that CPAs need to add value to the business, their customers, other stakeholders and engage the wider community."
