CPA Australia is committed to providing access to the foundation level exams by offering reasonable accommodations. Candidates who require alternative examination arrangements due to a debilitating medical condition should contact their divisional office. All requests should be submitted early in the semester to allow sufficient time for the special arrangements to be made. See important dates for the closing dates for alternative examination arrangements.
Special exam provisions and accommodations can be provided to candidates who have:
- a debilitating medical condition which meets certain criteria
- documented their request sufficiently
- submitted their application by the by the advertised close date
To submit your application, candidates must complete a written request, with a supporting certificate from a medical practitioner enclosed, which includes a detailed description of the condition suffered and special exam provisions or accommodations required. That is it must specify how long the rest breaks, what specific equipment is required and if it is an ongoing condition for which the special arrangements would be necessary for any future examinations. The application can be forwarded to the Professional programs administrator.
Note: candidates who are granted special exam provisions are not automatically granted special consideration on the basis of a debilitating medical condition. Candidates must apply for special consideration each semester that they require special consideration for their examination.
