Updated notes on ABC Learning DVD

Graphics:

The 2007 half year figures and the 2007 full year figures are in the wrong order in the graphic – they need to be reversed.

Graphics containing incorrect information (as outlined above):

  1. 2:03 – 2:14
  2. 2:26 – 3:18
  3. 3:18 – 3:28
  4. 7:51 – 8:20

Verbatim commentary by David Koch:

2:40:  'But by 2007, things had started to go awry. By the time the 2007 half year report was issued, net profit had had nosedived to just $37.1 million and operating cash flow was negative to the tune of $19.8 million. But the 2007 full year accounts show net profit was $143.1 million and operating cash flow had jumped to $206.9 million. A stunning result  given the poor figures reported at the half year.'

Suggested addendum:

'But by the end of 2007, things had started to go awry. By the time the half year reports were issued at the end of that year, net profit had nosedived to just $37.1 million. Operating cash flows were negative to the tune of $19.8 million. The full year accounts issued six months earlier reported net profit as $143.1 million and operating cash flow at $206.9 million – a stunning turnaround.'

Verbatim commentary by David Koch:

7:51:  'When ABC Learning reported negative operating cash flow of $20 million at the 2007 half year, it was clear the company was in big trouble. This, along with a huge drop in net profit, from $81.1 million for the '06 full year to just $37.1 million at the '07 half year, indicated ABC Learning was struggling to repay its debts.'
