Cycling around the bay

The Team CPA cycling group will once again sign up for Around the Bay on Sunday 21 October. Cyclists can opt to ride either 120 kilometres with Team CPA or “Around the Bay”, riding 260 kilometres.

CPAs team up against poverty

On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 April, four CPA Australia members from the Field Group accounting firm completed Oxfam’s annual Trailwalker fundraising event. The team walked 100 kilometres and finished 88th out of 745 teams, finishing in under 21 hours. They raised nearly $4000 for charity.

Business names transition: New registration service

Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) will begin winding down its business names services from Wednesday 23 May, to ensure that the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) receives the correct information for the transition to a national database during 2012. ASIC will manage the national business names registration service.

Victorian Divisional Council planning day

The Victorian Divisional Council supports the Board of Directors by working towards the effective servicing of 33,000 members in Victoria. The council contributes towards the strategy and direction of CPA Australia to the benefit of Victorian members and recently had a planning day with representatives from seven Regional Branches and Standing Committees. There will now be an engagement plan to address key issues facing members.
