Professional indemnity insurance for private and honorary accounting services

A professional indemnity (PI) insurance mini policy is available for members through Fenton Green & Co, who have arranged the insurance with ACE Insurance.

The mini policy is for members who perform private or honorary accounting services.

Members who provide pro bono or voluntary accounting services in the community can take advantage of CPA Australia's complimentary global PI insurance policy and do not need to arrange insurance under the mini policy.

The mini policy is relevant if:

• the gross annual fees from private or honorary accounting work does not exceed $7500
• the mini policy holder is not in public practice and does not advertise services
• the pro bono work or private accounting services is undertaken in accordance with CPA Australia's by-laws
• the pro bono and voluntary accounting work is not provided in the community

The mini policy is available exclusively to members for $65 for honorary accounting services, and $155 for private accounting services and honorary accounting services.

An additional fee of $33 is charged to process applications if the application is not submitted online.

CPA Australia receives revenue on member generated activity through Fenton Green & Co policies. This revenue is applied to administrative costs and the education needs of members.
