Environmental accounting

As with many facets of business, environmental and sustainability issues are having a deep and enduring impact on accounting and the role of accountants.

CPA Australia has interviewed three members in public practice who are involved in the area of sustainability and environmental accounting: Mr Malcolm Borgeaud FCPA, Mr Reg Williams CPA and Mr Jude Lau CPA.

These interviews address some of the challenges and, more significantly, the opportunities for public practitioners to both service and shape the needs of clients who operate in a complex and rapidly changing environment.

The practitioners are involved in emissions measurements, carbon footprints, environmental audits and training presentations on environmental legislation.
