Your faculty of professor Kevin Rock and professor Joshua Klayman will lead CFO Advance. Kevin Rock is a finance expert with a wealth of corporate experience and Joshua Klayman, will focus on leadership, stakeholder and change management, and is very familiar with the Australian and Asian environment.

Kevin Rock joined the faculty of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2004. Prior to his appointment, he taught courses in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions at MIT’s Sloan School of Management where he was named Teacher of the Year in 2003, 2000, and 1996.

Professor Rock was formerly vice president of the financial institutions group, mergers and acquisitions, at Citicorp Securities, Inc. He has also been a professor at both Harvard Business School and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

Professor Rock combines his research in structure, behaviour and efficiency of markets with his corporate experience. In Mexico, he participated in such transactions as the privatization of Teléfonos de México and the joint venture between GM & Confia Bank and in Peru, the privatization of Banco Continental. He was a also consultant for Citicorp Venture Capital in Argentina.

Kevin Rock received his PhD and MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an MA in economics from the University of Chicago Department of Economics. He conducts research on the structure, behaviour, and efficiency of public and private securities markets and his research has been published in the Journal of finance and the Journal of financial economics. He studies privatisations, joint ventures, and the mergers and acquisitions of banks and insurance companies in the developing world and emerging markets.

At Chicago Booth executive education, Dr. Rock teaches in Mergers and Acquisitions, Finance for Executives, the Latin American CFOs’ Executive Program, the Accelerated Development Program (London), and the Chicago Management Institute.

Joshua Klayman is Professor Emeritus of Behavioral Science at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1980. He is also a Professorial Fellow at the Melbourne Business School in Australia and a partner in Humanly Possible®, Inc. Prof. Klayman is a leading researcher in the field of managerial judgment and decision making and has served as president of the leading research organisation in that field. He is the author of numerous research publications focused on learning, judgment, and reasoning in individuals and organizations, with applications to organisational change, managerial decision making, planning, and problem solving. Professor Klayman has taught MBA and executive courses in organisational change and innovation, managing in organizations, and managerial decision making.

Professor Klayman had served as director of the Booth School of Business’ Decision Research Laboratory and as president of the Society for Judgment and Decision Making. He had also been a visiting professor of Technology Management at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

Professor Klayman's research interests are in the area of learning, judgment, and reasoning in individuals and organisations, with applications to organisational change, managerial decision making, planning, and problem solving. He has published in numerous journals including Organizational behavior and human decision processes, Review of organizational behavior, Psychology of learning and motivation, Journal of experimental psychology, and Psychological review.

Dr. Klayman earned his doctoral degree in developmental psychology from the University of Minnesota. He received an S.B. in psychology and social inquiry from M.I.T.
