Working in Europe

Europe provides opportunities to CPA Australia members seeking work in a wide range of fields and roles. This collection of diverse nations comprises more than 700 million people.

Local professional accounting bodies

Two accounting bodies in the United Kingdom, the The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and ccountancy (CIPFA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), have entered into mutual recognition agreements (MRAs) with CPA Australia.

CPA Australia also has an MRA with CPA Ireland. Dual members benefit from the international exposure and worldwide resources of two designations.

Employment opportunities

Most of the large accounting firms conduct annual recruitment exercises for final year accounting students from overseas universities.

Working conditions and lifestyle

Conditions and lifestyle are as diverse as the patchwork of countries that make up Europe. Many enjoy the cheap travel opportunities available.

Work permits

Work permits are different in every country. For more information contact the CPA Australia Europe office. The office helps find compatible mentors and mentees, and also helps with job hunting, networking, continuing professional development, study groups and local events. The office can also help with opening a bank account and finding accommodation.
