CPA Australia has a mutual recognition agreement (MRA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants India (ICAI) to establish guidelines on how qualified members can gain reciprocal membership. CPA Australia members who qualify for membership of ICAI will have rights to use the CA designation in India. ICAI members who qualify for membership of CPA Australia will have rights to use the CPA designation.

According to an international survey conducted by HSBC in 2008, expats based in Hong Kong and India earn some of the highest salaries in the world. Living costs can be low, but extra expenses — such as a driver — will need to be factored in to considerations.
