Flexible work

Flexible work includes working full-time, part-time, remotely or in a contract or consulting position.

If you want more flexibility in your hours or place of work, consider how well you would adapt to:

  • fluctuating income
  • managing employers' expectations
  • reporting to different people, including people younger than you
  • working from home
  • working alone
  • planning your time around varying volumes of work

If you are in a paid role, have you discussed your needs with your employer? They may want to keep you, and may be happy to offer you fewer hours, the flexibility to work from home, or some alternative arrangement that suits you both.
